Wellness Practices
Multicultural wellness education sessions can be delivered for:
- young people
- siblings
- parents, carers and wider family
- education or care staff
These practices are part of the work delivered nationally and internationally by Capacitar International. Capacitar is a multicultural popular education approach to transforming trauma.
The aim is to enable everyone to develop simple skills and techniques for personal relaxation, stress management and resilience building to promote health and well-being.
Capacitar sessions can include:
- Tai Chi
- Pal dan Gum
- guided meditation
- hand massage
- Emotional Freedom Technique
- Thought Field Therapy, and
- other forms of body work
These sessions are run for groups and normally last for 60 to 90 minutes.
Sessions can be delivered for parent / sibling support groups. Staff groups and groups of young people.
A quiet space in a local hall, centre or school is an ideal venue. Participants can bring blankets, mats or pillows to help them stay warm and comfortable during meditation sessions.
